The HumanGuide Concept for Private Life

Privat Rolf wife

The picture shows Rolf Kenmo, management consultant and inventor of the HumanGuide concept, and his life partner since 1994. They are an example of how you can benefit from the concept privately e.g. how you fit together, i.e. have similar interests and also understand each other's needs – that crucially facilitates life. Moreover, it gives them great support to be supportive to their 2 + 2 sons, plus families and grandchildren;-)

A strong argument for HumanGuide is that the underlying personality theory consists of eight basic dimensions. Then you get a more nuanced testresult and sharper analysis. Compare with MBTI, where you only “be” one of 16 types. The popular DISC-model (and similar) has only four basic dimensions. And the Five factor model has only five basic dimensions...

Are you satisfied with your life at work and in your private life?

The HumanGuide concept can be used both at work and in life, i.e. according to our slogan "HumanGuide improves at work and in life". Many of the concepts used at work can also be used in the private life, e.g. from to identify the "perfect" job for yourself to how to support your children in their choice of an occupation and based on that choice the relevant kind of education. Etc.

  • at first – all the ways for your personal development
  • what kind of job suits my personality, so that I really enjoy it!
  • what hobby or interest suits me? It isn’t always so easy to find a good one…
  • how to handle my family, my parents, friends and other people?
  • what is a suitable life partner for me?
  • is this a suitable life partner for me?
  • how to cooperate better with my life partner?
If you are interested in any of these areas, what can you then do? Well, e.g.
  • Purchase the test, with or without coaching, here at humanguide.nu Prices from 300 SEK incl. VAT

Job matching

When it comes to career choices, most people immediately think of specific jobs – perhaps because their parents do that job, their friends have chosen it, or because those jobs are currently in demand, and so on. It is, however, much better to approach this in two stages. First, you need to be able to describe your own personality in a nuanced way – ideally using HumanGuide😉 If you then use a good framework, you gain a clearer understanding of your needs and your motivation (driving forces). Many of the competing frameworks are too simplistic, whilst others are too complex. We believe that the eight factors on which HumanGuide is based are just right. Neither too few nor too many or too complex. But of course, we’re biased...

It is only once you are clear about your needs and driving forces that you should determine which types of jobs might suit your personality well. If you do it this way, there is a much greater chance that you will enjoy the type of job you focus on in the long term – even when it’s tough!

Now (2026) we have added a further step to the job-selection process – using AI, such as ChatGPT. This feature works brilliantly; for example, if you ask about suitable professions, you get lots of good ideas. It is, of course, not the definitive answer, but it provides good input for reflection, discussion and detailed research. Furthermore, the principle naturally applies – you get the answers you ask for 😉 If you ask specific questions, you get specific answers...

You can also check in more detail how well your personality matches the professional requirements of a job you’re interested in. You do this by using the Calculate Passion Index feature in the web app your.humanguide.se. The Passion Index is a kind of educational measure of how well the job suits your personality.

Of course, it is not just personality that is crucial for a good match with a job, but also the manager, the company/organisation, your own talents of various kinds (logic, numerical ability, etc.), values, and so on.

Another benchmark for maximum motivation, apart from a good match with one’s own personality, is – according to the book Drive by Daniel Pink – How can personality knowledge support the private life? In many ways e.g.

  • that you be in control of your job situation
  • that the job is purposeful

However, Pink missed something important – relationships. They play a crucial role in motivation – especially, of course, in a romantic relationship😉 You can also view the culture of a company or organisation as an important relationship.

Further down, there is more information on career and study choices. This applies to young people who are about to choose a course of study at school. It is important to think carefully so that their studies provide opportunities for a suitable career path.

Career and study choices

The reasoning here is the same as for Job Matching – see above. There is also an important additional aspect. In this way, you will see a clear link between the chosen field of study and an ideal potential job. This creates a strong motivation to study, which in turn will increase the chances of landing that ideal job!

For young people, it turns out that results are usually much better if you use HumanGuide Cards, i.e. the test in card format. It becomes more tangible and concrete. Furthermore, it has been found that it can be helpful to take the test with a friend or partner, as many young people do not always have a strong sense of self. When there are two of you, you can discuss what constitutes typical and non-typical behaviour.

What Life Partner Suits Me?

At work it is an advantage if the teams in which you are a member are based on diversity. However, when it comes to choosing a life partner, it is preferable to strive after many similar strong factors and also values of course. Why? Because if you two are very different, then you both will have very different interests and hobbies, e.g. one in the couple likes to be in nature as often as possible and the other in the couple perhaps hates it... But if you have two or more factors as strong ones, then it is, of course, good if other factors are complementary, e.g. one is strong at Structure (one of the factors in the personality theory Eight Boxes) and the other is not. Hmmm. Obviously, it’s crucial that you share the same core values.

Person Chemistry Analysis

The same as at work it could be valuable to do a so-called Person Chemistry Analysis. And… it is more valuable to do such an analysis in a couple relation, because then you will hopefully be together for a long time. This kind of analysis can help you get along well together😉. Here too, you can make use of the ‘personality chemistry’ feature in the web app at your.humanguide.se.

Other services...

Please also note that in the other service areas there may be services, which may be relevant, as they partly merge, e.g. team development always involves individual and leadership development. In addition, most of the human development can be applied in private life.

Testimonials on job matching

You can find descriptions of the factors in personality theory here.

Two siblings took the test together using the card deck format; in other words, they helped each other with the self-assessment section, which made it easier to choose. Occasionally, they asked the coach about the meaning of certain words. Once they had received their test results, they used ChatGPT to get suggestions. There is a daughter, who is in her second year of secondary school, and a son, who is in Year 9 in the primary school.

The siblings: "We thought it was interesting and fun to create our profiles. They were quite accurate based on how we feel ourselves. To sum up, we both think they provide an accurate and helpful confirmation of how we feel about the future. We feel more confident about our future choices."

The father: "From my perspective, I think the profiles are spot on! They’ve now used them and, via ChatGPT, asked for recommendations regarding upper secondary school choices in my son’s case and career choices/further education in my daughter’s case. They both entered their profiles and described themselves a little further in terms of what they do today and what they enjoy. We asked what additional questions needed answering to provide the best possible recommendation, and they were given 5–8 questions to answer. Among other things, what further description one of the traits (Power) had."

Here is some feedback from a daughter who took the test nine years ago. There is a blog post (The Private part) about her story up to the present day (2026)

Daughter: “I thought it was fun to take the test when I was 15. Even now. But because I didn’t listen to the results when I was 15, I had to live with the consequences.

It won’t be time for me to choose a specialism for a few more years. I still have very limited insight into most specialisms, but hopefully it will be easier to make a suitable choice, partly because of the test.

It depends on having a fully motivated individual in front of you when the test is done."

The mother: "After meeting Rolf and taking the HumanGuide test myself, I realised what a good tool it was for gaining greater confidence in one’s choices.

That’s why I asked Rolf if my daughter and some of her friends could take the test. It became clear what would be best for her, but it’s not always easy to stick to what you know, especially at such a young age. I’m happy and grateful that she held on to her dream of becoming a doctor and that, thanks to her strength, she worked determinedly and was accepted onto the medical programme."

Here is some feedback from professionals

"Eight years ago, I had a personal review of my PersonProfile using HumanGuide. I have taken many other personality tests since then, but I think this ‘method’ was the most fascinating and accurate. The PersonProfile is still displayed at my workplace"

IT Manager, Sweden (19 April 2018)

"As a consultant, I have taken a number of personality tests. The results made me feel validated, but I didn’t get an answer to: Why wasn’t I 100% happy anyway? Last autumn, I took the HumanGuide test, which only took me 15 minutes to complete. It explained to me where I’m most motivated and therefore where I can most easily be at my best. So now I know!"

Nuclear engineer, Sweden (27 March 2018)

Testimonials from couples and in general

"B and I have talked a lot about what our ‘results’ revealed. We’ve tried to apply them to various situations we’ve faced. This has given us a better understanding of our conflicts. It’s been lovely to be able to put into words things we knew about but couldn’t quite describe. I’ve really taken to heart the idea of avoiding giving advice that the other person hasn’t asked for. "

B & F

”Rolf Kenmo has adapted Szondi’s theory to everyday life. It is a great idea of conveying the theory to a broad use. That is an essential asset for making the test results immediately accepted and it works in any culture. We use HumanGuide in recruiting and team development for an internationally operating company.”

Thomas Seiler, CEO, U-blox AG, Switzerland (2003)

"In start-ups companies enthusiasm is high, but daily challenges soon require the appropriate personality profile for the job. Understanding the team's driving strengths and selecting the required additional resources is greatly improved with HumanGuide profiles. I use the concept systematically in my coaching activity."

Thomas Seiler, when he was CEO for u-blox AG in Switzerland (above), he used between 2003-2023 the HumanGuide concept mostly for recruitment. 2003 it was a startup and 2023 they had 1400 employees on 29 places in the world. Since then he has been an advisor and investor – especially for start-ups.

”The theory is explained very pedagogically in the HumanGuide concepts and it is a good support for my clients (since 2002), in vocational guidance and in coaching. HumanGuide supports well in working life as well as in private life.”

Giselle Welter, psychologist, spec. in vocational guidance, RH99, Sao Paulo, Brazil  (2000)

"Personality has always been a debatable topic throughout research and countless psychometric tests available for use. However none of these tests have the HumanGuide approach, which is practical, simple, easy to use and accurate to act upon. Supported by extensive research, HumanGuide takes in consideration eight factors, using the psychology of colours and symbols for meaningful comprehension.

The HumanGuide test does not stand alone, it goes beyond any other test. It provides unique opportunities to measure further person chemistry, passion index, job and culture profiles...It has all what an organisation needs to overcome today's more than ever complex human resources challenges.

HumanGuide has considerably improved my personal and professional life and I always appreciate our collaboration with Rolf Kenmo."

George Ubbelohde, hospitatlity Industry Executive and Educator, Brussels, Belgium (2020)

”The tests are simple and easy to use. The availability via the internet make them excellent. I have had great use of the concepts for recruitment, development of individuals and teams.”

Sven-Erik Ringström; VD WM-data IT Support AB, now CGI AB, Sweden;  (2003)

"I've been using the HumanGuide since 2012, with excellent results! It has been an assessment tool much requested by my organizational clients."

Adriana Torres Guedes, Psychologist, Brazil (2020-02-10)

"I hire probably the wrong yellow people". A manager used DISC's four dimensions. DISC's yellow dimension is represented by three dimensions with the HumanGuide. The colurs in HumanGuide are: Orange, grey, green, violett, blue, yellow, brown and red, i.e. Then the test result will be much more nuanced. Above on this page there is a video with the symbolics for the eight colours.
