40th anniversary of the HumanGuide concept

This year marks the 40th anniversary of the HumanGuide concept. The project began in 1986 with the development of a personality test for the selection of bus guides.

The anniversary also coincides with my 80th birthday, so I am working on my succession plan. I enjoy helping to develop the application of the concept, so I have chosen to be a ‘passionaire’, as I do not believe in the strategy of being a traditional pensioner.

Things have gone best in Brazil, where the psychologist Giselle Welter and her business partner, the entrepreneur Marco Sinicco, have done an outstanding job. Since the test was approved in Brazil in 2009, over 500,000 HumanGuide tests have been carried out there.

Now, on my birthday, I’ve received some particularly lovely feedback from one of the Brazilian users. See below.

On my birthday, to mark the occasion, I wore a T-shirt that Giselle gave me a few years ago. You can see it in the photo. The Portuguese text reads: ‘I don’t just dream – I make it happen’. I felt honoured, of course 😉

In Sweden, we have the ‘Jante Law’. It says that you should be humble. Many people in Sweden are, but there are those, like me, who also follows the ‘Viking Law’, which says the exact opposite: ‘Be proud.’ That’s important too.
